ABCUL Academy


Training fit for the modern credit union movement

The ABCUL Academy is ABCUL’s new comprehensive training suite for credit unions.

The Academy contains a number of different elements that can be accessed either independently as single modules, or grouped together to form a pathway - dependent on the requirements of the individual.

Modules are designed to develop both strategic and operational skills and includes:

  • Corporate governance
  • Strategic planning
  • Risk management
  • Business planning
  • Internal audit
  • Lending policy and credit control
  • People management and team development

In addition to these, a significant number of regulatory modules are available on topics such as Preventing Financial Crime, Data Protection and Compliance with the Senior Managers Regime.

The training is delivered by distance learning to enable us to support the maximum numbers possible, but various types of distance learning such as eLearning, webinars, workbooks and video based content will be deployed to provide a blend.

Our new training suite is designed to respond to the changing needs and requirements of the British credit union movement.

This Learning Management System (LMS) allows credit unions to track which of their people have completed each course – and demonstrate this to members and regulators.
