Pentecostal Credit Union (PCU) launches its first MasterCard Debit Card, which is the latest product to enhance its service to members.

PCU members have now been able to enjoy the convenience of making payments with the new debit card, with the added benefits of contactless technology. The PCU Debit card can be used in shops, online purchases, money transfers, bill payments and can be used anywhere in the world where the MasterCard logo is displayed.

The launch of the PCU debit card took place at their offices in South London on the birthday of PCU founder, Rev Carmel Jones. PCU was founded in 1980 by Rev Carmel Jones who arrived in the UK as part of the Windrush Generation, he stated: “We aim to continue the legacy of providing financial services that meet the needs of our members.

“It’s inspiring to see how far the PCU has come since I first started, and I’m pleased that this bold new step of launching a debit card has taken place on my 81st birthday”.

CEO of PCU, Shane Bowes shared: “The launch of PCU’s first ever debit card is just another step we’ve taken to upscale service provision to members. I’m especially proud that our debit card has been launched during black history month and the 70th anniversary of the arrival of HMS Windrush in Britain”.

"Since being founded in 1980, the PCU has become one of the foremost credit unions in Britain. Not only do we offer financial services for our members, but we also run leadership training for young people, financial management workshops for faith groups and community organisations and a business course for up and coming entrepreneurs".
